Sapling Learning Partners with University Science Books

Sapling Learning Welcomes University Science Books as Channel Partner

Sapling Learning, a leading provider of interactive homework and assessment software for the Higher Education sciences, announced today that it has entered into a channel partnership agreement with textbook publisher University Science Books. The partnership aims to provide college science students with proven instructional technology, engaging and relevant learning experiences and effective instruction through an online homework component that compliments the publishers’ chemistry textbooks.

Under this new partner agreement, Sapling Learning will provide customized instructional, online content developed by its Master’s and Ph.D.-level educators to match University Science Books’ textbooks. Instructors will now have the option of assigning Sapling Learning’s online learning system alongside University Science Books textbooks.

“As a traditional college textbook publisher, combining forces with Sapling Learning was a brilliant move for us and a mutually beneficial one,” said Bruce Armbruster, President, University Science Books. “Sapling can leverage our great content and our reputation for excellence in science publishing. We can take advantage of Sapling’s highly effective, state-of-the-art electronic homework and their exceptional instructor support, both of which are unparalleled in the industry. Our two companies complement each other very well, and we can now work together to maximize our impact.”

Sapling Learning’s critical features include rich, discipline-specific interactions far beyond simple multiple choice to enhance student problem-solving skills and comprehension. It is a powerful online learning system that advances student achievement while providing timely, accurate student and class performance information to the instructor. Sapling Learning can be accessed anytime through a Web browser, and provides students with real-time tutoring when they need help in the form of hints, feedback specific to misconceptions a student has, and detailed solutions.

“Professors are continually seeking ways to provide students access with resources they need for success in their courses,” said, James Caras, Ph.D., CEO, Sapling Learning. “Sapling Learning and University Science Books are both committed to providing high quality learning solutions that are very cost effective. This relationship conforms to Sapling’s strategy of improving the quality of science education through adoption of our software by higher education faculty, while at the same time decreasing the cost of a college education.”
